Goodman and Fleisher Advance to Spingold Final

Andy Goodman’s team of Giacomo Percario, Mike Passell, Shan Huang and Robert Levin advanced to the Spingold final with a 134-84 victory over Harrison Luba, Adam Kaplan, Owen Lien and Finn Kolesnik. Goodman led by 13 IMPs after the first quarter and by 12 at halftime before extending the margin in the third quarter to take a 51-IMP lead into the final segment.
The other semifinal ended early. Marty Fleisher’s team of Cedric Lorenzini, Thomas Bessis, Chip Martel, Sjoert Brink and Sebastiaan Drijver built a 134-4 lead over Paul Street, Piotr Zatorski, Ron Pachtmann, Nicolas L’Ecuyer, Ami Zamir and Oren Toledano after three quarters of the play (45 boards). Street’s team conceded, sending Fleisher into the championship match against Goodman.
