The Spingold quarterfinals produced another major upset as Harrison Luba’s team defeated defending champion and top seed Wolfson 195–105. Luba led after every quarter and advanced to the semifinals against Andy Goodman’s team, which defeated Andrew Rosenthal 93–90 in the closest match of the round.

In the other half of the draw, No. 2 seed Fleisher defeated Amoils 141–104, while Paul Street eliminated Patricia Cayne 115–101. The second semifinal will therefore pit Fleisher against Street.
