England Wins the Teltscher Trophy for the Ninth Time

England won the 2026 Teltscher Trophy, the Senior Camrose home international for players born in 1961 or earlier, hosted by the English Bridge Union at the Cambridge Belfry Hotel and Spa in Cambourne, from May 15 to 17. The England team comprised Alan Mould and John Holland, John Pemberton and Richard Creamer, Kay Preddy and Norman Selway, under NPC David Jones.
Ireland finished third, according to the Contract Bridge Association of Ireland, despite hopes of a second home international win in the same season following their earlier Camrose Trophy success. The Irish pair of Donal Garvey and Pat Quinn topped the Butler rankings over the course of the weekend.
With this victory, England have now won the Teltscher Trophy nine times since the competition was inaugurated in 2008, well ahead of Scotland on five and the Republic of Ireland on three. The 2027 edition of the Teltscher is scheduled to be held in Northern Ireland.
