26th German Bridge Festival concludes in Wyk auf Föhr
The 26th German Bridge Festival took place in Wyk auf Föhr from 2 to 9 May 2026. Players from across Germany gathered on the North Sea island for a week of tournaments and social events.
The winners of the main pairs tournament were Michael Gromöller and Helmut Häusler with 61.46 %. Hema Adhikary and Ulrich Schweding finished second, followed by Frank-Onno Bettermann and Burkhard Thamm in third place.
The titles Mrs Wyk and Mr Wyk were awarded to Dr Yasmin Basegmez and Holger Renken. The ranking for these titles is based on results achieved across several festival tournaments during the week. Both players also recorded strong results in the main pairs event, finishing fifth and seventh respectively.

The festival program included a wide range of competitions, among them the opening tournament, mixed and women’s events, side pair tournaments, biathlon competitions, team events and the traditional pub tournament.
The festival once again combined competitive bridge with the relaxed atmosphere of Föhr and remains one of the most important annual bridge events in Germany.
