After Las Vegas, the Fall Nationals caravan has moved on to San Francisco. The venue for the festivities, the Marriott Marquis Hotel, rises among the gleaming skyscrapers in the heart of downtown.

Eleven days of intensive bridge are on the agenda, with thousands of participants battling through several dozen events of all levels. The champions cross swords in top-level tournaments, awarding Platinum masterpoints. Experienced players aiming “only” for Gold points also have plenty of opportunities to shine. Less experienced players ‒ and even complete beginners ‒can learn and improve their skills in a dedicated space.
The two major events are the Soloway KO Teams and the Reisinger. Last year, the French stole the show in the Soloway: Team Fleisher (with Bessis–Lorenzini) won the final against Team Messika (Lionel Sebbane, Paul Seguineau, and Frédéric Volcker). Matching that performance will be a tall order!
And in the Reisinger, the spectacular Board-a-Match event, it was an American-Chinese team led by Kevin Rosenberg that lifted the trophy, with Bessis–Lorenzini finishing third this time, and as the top performers of the entire Nationals.
