About voting for the 100 most influential figures in bridge

      It’s ridiculous.

Where are Culbertson, Charles Goren, Terence Reese, Tim Bourke, Pottage, and Omar Sharif?

I honestly can’t understand your choices. You included Sharon Stone, Martina Navratilova, and many others who have done nothing to inspire the game of bridge. Who are they in the bridge world?

This site has overlooked some of the most important figures in the history of bridge, legendary players and authors whose books have inspired and educated generations of bridge players around the world.

      • Hey, thanks for your feedback. You’re absolutely right—there are plenty of key figures in the bridge world missing from the list.
There are a few reasons for this:
We decided to limit the list to 100 names, aiming for a mix of players, champions, writers, actors, and business leaders. That kind of selection inevitably means leaving some people out—and not everyone will be happy with the choices—but there will be future votes.
Another criterion was to include only living individuals for this initial vote (though we did make two mistakes *mea culpa*, it’s our first time doing this).
That said, we’re delighted to see it sparking so much passion; that’s exactly what we love about bridge.
