You will try to reveal what should remain hidden.

Try this declarer play problem from the final of the 2025 USA2 Senior Trials.
You reach four spades after a strong no-trump opening from East, and you receive the diamond king lead. This practically telegraphs the locations of all the key honors. There are 21 high-card points out. Assuming West has the diamond queen, East must hold the heart king and queen to make up his count. Yes, there is a chance East has opened light, but surely only on a 14-count without the club jack. If East had really pushed out the boat on a 14-count, then West, with a 7-count and a singleton spade, could easily have acted over two spades.
Your mind should therefore turn to an endplay. If you can strip out the minor suits after having drawn all the trumps, you can then lead a heart to the eight. You will succeed whenever West holds the heart 10.
Following through with your plan, you win with the diamond ace and give up a club. You can take the trump return, surrender a diamond and then win the next trump in dummy to ruff a club, ruff a diamond and ruff a club, having worked out correctly that you needed to end in hand.
Now that you have eliminated the minors, you play a heart to the eight. East wins but must either concede a ruff-and-discard (the discard being taken from hand) or return a heart into your split tenace.
Both Adam Wildavsky and Bobby Levin brought home their thin games in this fashion. Levin’s team, Lall, went on to the Senior Bowl as USA2.
