Even if you pass with most balanced 11s, you could make the case that this hand is worth an opening bid. In marginal cases, let the quality of the long suit sway you one way or the other. Your side-suit intermediates are not bad, either. Equally important, you have a sensible rebid at your second turn over the likely major-suit response. This assumes you share my opinion that raising a one-spade response would be attractive.
