Really wanna open the fire with so poor defensive values? Really convinced that ♥ will be the final contract with West as declarer? Whereas one can agree on the benefit of orienting a good lead, the ♦ opening is far from convincing a partner to lead ♦… Now, if your style is very aggressive, I can agree that you have some potential for getting a positive score, but a contract your way would require a ♠ fit and enough entries and top ♠ to run those ♦ which, granted, sparkle for the take, but may well prove hard to collect in good time. To sum it up: you do not have the values, don’t fool your partner: Pass.
I’d rather bid 2D than 1D. I’m not passing with this hand.
Passes rules of 20 and 22 and a nice suit – why not open and show it?
11 HCP plus 1 for distribution plus a singleton. I can’t pass, though with 2 Jacks and I can’t bid 2D which shows 6 cards and <10 HCP.
