I am not a huge fan of the adage “When in doubt, lead a trump,” but, on this occasion, I cannot think of anything else to do that isn’t at least as likely to cost a trick. Leading the spade queen to try to maneuver for a ruff seems like too much of a gamble. If I had J-x in spades, I might consider that as an option since the jack is less likely to be a natural or potential trick.
