Day 7 brought three more rounds in each of the four series. Denmark returned to the lead in the Open Teams, England stayed in control in the Women’s field, Denmark remained well clear in Seniors, and Latvia ended the day first in Mixed.

Open

Denmark, which had led the Open standings after Days 2, 3, 4 and 5, reclaimed first place from Norway in Round 19. Norway had started the day in front and increased its lead slightly after Round 18, but a heavy loss to Latvia allowed Denmark to move ahead and then confirm their position with a 19.07 VP win when it was their turn to play Latvia. Norway remains second, with England still third. Switzerland, Israel, Ireland, Iceland and Sweden complete the top eight. The Netherlands briefly returned to the qualifying places after a 20-0 VP win over Bulgaria but ended the day tenth. Bulgaria, sixth at the start of the day, dropped to fifteenth.

Women

England kept the lead in the Women’s championship and now has a ten-point margin over the Netherlands. The Dutch moved from fourth to second, while Estonia climbed from sixth to third. Sweden also had a strong day, rising from fifth to fourth, and Türkiye moved from eighth to fifth. Ireland, Poland and France occupy the remaining qualifying places. Norway, second at the start of the day, suffered badly from defeats to England and the Netherlands before recovering against Denmark, but still slipped to ninth. Italy also dropped out of the top eight after losses to Poland and Türkiye.

Seniors

Denmark remains clearly ahead in the Seniors championship despite a more modest day by its own standards. Behind the leaders, France produced the major move of the day, rising from sixth to second after victories over Romania, Estonia and Switzerland, including a 20-0 against Estonia. Sweden lies third, followed by the Netherlands, Bulgaria, Türkiye, Iceland and Germany. England and Croatia, both in the top eight at the start of the day, fell out of the qualifying positions, while Germany moved back into eighth place after wins over England, Switzerland and Latvia.

Mixed

Latvia finished the day at the top of the Mixed Teams, but not without losing the lead during the day. Belgium moved ahead after Round 9 and was still first after Round 10, before Latvia’s victory over France in the final round put it back in front. England rose from fourth to second, Belgium ended third, and France finished fourth. Sweden and Poland remain in the top six, while Romania and Spain occupy the last two qualifying places. Italy, sixth at the start of the day, dropped to ninth and out of the top eight. The top four are separated by less than six VP, leaving the race very open.
