Open Teams

The major development of the day came right at the start, when Norway defeated Israel and replaced Denmark at the top of the standings. The Norwegians then retained first place throughout the day and will begin Day 7 with a nine-point lead over Denmark, despite drawing with Greece in the final round. England remains firmly established in third place. Behind the podium, Switzerland produced the day’s most impressive climb, moving from tenth to fourth after victories over Germany, Ukraine and France. Bulgaria and Israel remain in the qualifying positions, while Iceland has quietly moved into eighth place. Germany, meanwhile, has fallen out of the top eight after a disastrous 20-0 defeat to Türkiye.

Women Teams

The Women’s championship has undergone a complete reshuffle. Estonia, which started the day in first place, slipped to sixth after defeats to Finland and Denmark. England moved from second to first and now leads a tightly packed field ahead of Norway and Italy. The Netherlands has remained among the leading teams throughout, while Sweden has climbed from ninth to fifth. Ireland and Türkiye currently occupy the final qualifying places. France’s day followed the opposite trajectory: after starting in sixth place, defeats to Italy and England dropped the French team out of the Top 8 before a victory over Finland lifted it back to ninth, just one place outside the qualification zone.

Senior Teams

Denmark has reinforced its domination of the Seniors championship and is now more than twenty-five points clear at the top after four more victories. Behind the runaway leaders, the standings have changed considerably. Bulgaria has climbed from eighth to second, while Sweden has risen from third to third… wait that’s wrong. Netherlands moved from fifth to fourth and France from ninth to sixth after victories over England and Germany. Türkiye, which began the day in second place, slipped to fifth after losing to Sweden. Croatia has narrowly dropped out of the qualification places and now sits ninth, while Norway’s struggles continue: despite beating Denmark and receiving a bye, the defending champions remain down in eighteenth place.

Mixed Teams

The Mixed Teams produced another dramatic change of leadership. Poland began the day comfortably ahead but suffered a heavy defeat to Sweden and was eventually overtaken by Latvia, which collected three victories from four matches and now leads by more than five points. France enjoyed an excellent day, climbing from fourth to second after a bye and convincing wins over Scotland and Germany. Belgium remains firmly in contention in third place, while England has risen from seventh to fourth. Italy and Spain have moved into the qualification places at the expense of Israel and Croatia. At the other end of the standings, Estonia has endured a spectacular collapse, falling from twentieth to twenty-second despite beginning the championship with considerable promise.
