I don’t hate 4S, but since I am willing to outbid any opposing bid through 4S, I’ll walk the dog here with 1S. We might even get doubled.
It would be useful to get the vulnerability here, as the best bid could be a Namyats. Besides, as you are sure to compete up to 3♠ and perhaps beyond, why miss the 110 or 140 available score by imposing a failing 4♠? A sound option is to give partner the opportunity to tell you of 2 tricks her side, a safe rocket to game.
